It’s quite a challenge to cultivate a sense of online professionalism among the pre-service teachers that I teach every semester. For some, the transition from college student to professional teacher is a bumpy one—and not every candidate is successful. The first task I have students in my online technology module complete is to craft a “professional-looking” profile photo that would interest (not repel) a potential employer. And, I will add, interest an employer for all the right reasons. That’s why I was elated when came across this cleverly-crafted video clip, “Overexposed” by Nicholas Chen and Edan Freiberger. It visually (and somewhat comedically) expresses what my pre-services teachers don’t think about before they venture forth “into the field,” as we call it in teacher education. It’s a must-see:
